Spectrum of Liver Disease In Pregnancy. A Pospective and Retrospective Study

Background and Aim: Liver disease during pregnancy can complicate up to 3% of all pregnancies. Subtle presentation, overlap makes the differential diagnosis a real time challenge. There is insufficient prospective data on spectrum outcome liver in pregnant population from India. Methods: This retrospective study was planned evaluate various diseases females presenting Gastroenterology department. Relevant diagnostic test and, standard criteria were used (Tennessee system for HELLP ,Swansea AFLP).Through out patients given care treatment as per severity & safety relevant statistical analysis done. Results: Abnormalities LFT found 152 (16.7%) 905 Of these, ninety eight (64.47%) had pregnancy-specific disorders (pregnancy-induced hypertension [PIH]-associated dysfunction 38 including syndrome 24 pre-eclamptic -14; IHC -37; hyperemesis gravidarum -19; AFLP- 4). not specific included hepatitis E (20), A (9) B (12), C(8) chronic others (14); 12 no cause could be found.
